Tinned Goods - A Love Letter to Craft & Culture
At Block Design, we’re always searching for design inspiration in the everyday. Our latest launch, Tinned Goods, is a celebration of travel, tradition, and timeless design. Born from a designer’s visit to Portugal, where the shelves of sardine tins in a Lisbon delicatessen sparked a new creative journey for Block Design.
With bold graphics, rich cultural references, and thoughtful craftsmanship, each product in the collection tells a story of artistry, of place, and of the joy in small, beautiful things.

Inspired by the Charm of the Past
The Tinned Goods collection draws from two worlds we love: the vintage aesthetic of American tobacconists, with their curated chaos of curious treasures, and the vibrant packaging of European delicatessens, where even the most everyday items feel special.
Each tin is designed in our Cornwall studio, then crafted in collaboration with local makers, celebrating sustainable production, hand-finished detail, and materials chosen for quality and longevity. The artwork for each tin pays homage to iconic art movements and modern masters, making these pieces as much about design as they are about utility.
From Studio to Shelf: Discover the Story Behind the Scenes
Every item in the Tinned Goods collection has been touched by many hands; each with care, intention, and a shared vision. As part of this launch, we’ve expanded our studio space, to house our new collection and creative process.
It’s here that the candles are hand-poured, the dog whistles are hand-tied, and the mini mannequins are carefully positioned in their perfectly snug homes. Our production team assembles, packs, and inspects every piece to ensure the tiniest detail is just right before your item arrives at its new home.
This collection is the result of a true team effort. From hand-selecting each gift, to designing every tin, to the final moment of packing them with love. The Tinned Goods collection has been and continues to be a process grounded in collaboration, creativity, and community.
We believe that the story behind a product is just as important as the product itself. That’s why we’ve worked with local artisans, used sustainable materials and methods, and poured our collective energy into making something meaningful, playful, and made to last.

Lemongrass & Ginger Soy Wax Candle
