Block on Tour: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Trade Show Season
Twice a year trade show season roles around and this summer/autumn season we are taking you, our Block community, along for the trip. Trade show season gives us the chance to step out from the studio and share what we've been working on with the world. It's were our creativity meet connection, and we are bringing a fresh line-up of products to some of the most inspiring design events across the globe.
Not only do tradeshows give us the opportunity say hello to familiar faces and build a wider Block community, but its drives our creativity. Trade shows are a great source of inspiration, from colours, shapes, materials people and technologies. Our Team love entering a trade show hopeful and leaving inspired.
Where We're Going: Our Global Show Calendar
This season we have been showcasing at:
Lifestyle Week Tokyo - Tokyo JP: This is our first time showcasing in Japan, and the team have loved exploring this beautiful country, being inspired by the food, architecture and colours.
Shoppe Object - New York USA: This is one of our favourite shows! We get to meet up with all our American friends and live a week in the never sleeping city of New York
Toronto Market Week - Toronto CA: Our amazing US/Canada Agent takes on this show with his team and its always great getting the feed back on our new products from the show.
Show Up - Amsterdam NL: Our Luxemburg/Netherlands Agent does this show by herself, but its always great to see Blocks Products feature in Show Up's showcase of products.
Top Drawer - London GB: This is our longest attending show, we have been showcasing Block Products here for almost as long as Block has been around. Its always great to get up to London, show off what we have been working on and visit a few of our stockist around the city.
Maison et Object - Paris FR: Paris is always a favourite among the team. The show is always so inspiring with all types of products on display, from gifts, wallpapers, children toys, fashion and furniture. And exploring Paris' beautiful landmarks in the evenings is always a bonus!
Each city brings its own energy and audience and we can't wait to see how our new designs are received around the world.

Behind the Scenes: How We Prep for Trade Shows
As soon as one season ends the new one begins. Trade shows are always in the back of our minds at Block Design, and with only a few months between the end of one season and the beginning a new one, its a quick turn around to get everything ready.
Our Product design team is always busy coming up with exciting new products, but the real crunch time is when we are gathering those ideas into samples ready for showcasing them at a trade show.
