TIP 1: FIND NATURAL LIGHT
Good lighting is essential in the work place. If you can, find a spot within your home that has plenty of natural light. Exposure to natural light in an office environment will increase your productivity, health and overall wellbeing. This is especially important if your work requires staring at a computer screen.
Of course, natural light isn't always possible, click here for more ideas for more lighting ideas to brighten up your workspace.
TIP 2: REDUCE STRESS - ADD A PLANT TO YOUR DESK
We love to have plants in the Block Design studio and have each taken one home to look after whilst we are working remotely. Having a plant on your desk can help to reduce your stress levels which in turn boosts creativity and productivity. They also help to clean and purify the air with in your workspace, and help to absorb noise creating peace and tranquility in your home office.

TIP 3: TAKE A BREAK
It's important to remember to take regular breaks from your WFH office. Keep your body moving with gentle stretches or for a more vigorous workout try an online workout or yoga class, you'll find some great suggestions here
Where possible, as per the latest government advice, enjoy a change of scenery and get some fresh air as being in the same space can feel restrictive. (Desk Accessories image credit: Rarebreed).
TIP 4: DESIGNATE A SPECIFIC WORK AREA
Unfortunately we don't all have a handy spare room to transform into a fancy home office. But it can be easy to create a designated home working space with just a few small updates.
If you can, section off part of your dining room or bedroom, finding an area of your home that can be fairly easily kept organised and quiet.
Keeping clutter away from your desk for a more fluid workflow and clear mind. But adding some of your favourite objects to the space will make you feel happy, inspired and motivated. (Large White Pegboard image credit @elaurentdeco).

TIP 5: GET CREATIVE
Sometimes when we're consumed by the task at hand we struggle to find the solution! Completing a creative project away from your actual work can help you to gain a new perspective and often lead to a more innovative result. In the studio we regularly take time out for general sketching and mark making and we have been carrying this on at home.
We've created an A4 weekly 'A Sketch a Day' sheet to help you to kickstart each day with a doodle! You'll find a link to download the printable sheet here.
